Kendra Carson, owner of Carson Music Services, is a board certified music therapist with 16 years of experience working with the geriatric population. She has a BA in Music (piano performance) and a BS in Psychology (developmental) from Plymouth State University in NH. She earned a Masters in Expressive Therapies (music therapy option) from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Her music therapy experiences range from working on a geriatric-psychiatric unit and Special Care Dementia units, to working with severely emotionally, physically, and visually handicapped children and young adults. Kendra's current clients are primarily referrals from the Downs Syndrome Association and the Alzheimer's association. She utilizes a client-centered approach developing groups and/or sessions that enhance, challenge and explore the physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social components.
Kendra has a piano studio in her home. She has been a piano instructor for 20+ years and enjoys passing along the knowledge and joy of playing the piano to others. She also shares her piano skills by helping out her church's music program on occasion.
Kendra completed the Music Together® training in 2014. This has helped her expand her repetoire and understanding of musical developement in children. She also teaches music to grades pre-school through grade 8 at CinDay Academy in Springboro.
Bringing the joy of music making to ALL ages and stages is a true passion for Kendra.
Kendra and her husband of 18 years are busy raising their 2 boys, Liam and Sean. The family enjoys camping, Scouting, roasting marshmallows in their fire pit and playing with their dog, Sasha.
